Congratulations to MBTSSW's BSW Honors Student

December 15, 2011 at 6:32pm

Amy Shigemitsu, a BSW Honors student with the Myron B. Thompson School of Social Work, won honorable mention in this year’s Fall Forum 2011 with her topic of “Examining Perspectives on Online Counseling”. Dr. Seunghye Hong from the Myron B. Thompson School of Social Work, was Amy's faculty mentor.

The Spring Symposium and Fall Forum are events sponsored or co-sponsored by the Honors Program to showcase undergraduate research and creative work at UH Manoa. These events are held in the form and style of professional conferences, with oral and poster presentations. Generally they are held on the Saturday before Study Days each semester.

The Fall Forum is for students working on their proposals in HON 495 and completing the Senior Honors Projects (HON 496) and it mimics a professional academic conference. Presentations and posters are judged by faculty and prizes are awarded.
