Please don't get me wrong, Mr Hasan has done a terrible deed and he should and will be punished, but I think people are trying to make sense out of tragedy becase what Mr Hasan did has no real explanation.

It is with regret that, as a US citizen of the planet earth, there are those among us who cannot live without hate or violence. Furthermore, there are those serving in the military who do not represent the oath of military service they have taken. Even in this column today, we see remarks of hatred in the name of religion. These individuals with those proclamations do not even believe their own religion, as there is no religion promoting hatred.

We must all learn to get along in peaceful and cooperative ways without killing each other or acts of violence. This is the root of all religions and the basis for the advancement of humanity.

We have members of the armed forces who are clueless about the oath they have taken to serve their country, including in this column. It is quite the disgrace that we are in a war, and yet cannot even have peace amongst ourselves. How do we ever intend to have a peaceful nation when we cannot even have our foundation set right to build upon?

Thanks Valerie. We are all always in a place where we can share our view, no matter where we are, if we truly believe in our view. Many people have sacrificed their lives to express their views, not because of their expression, but because others were unable to accept a different point of view.

I continue to learn from others what right and wrong... See More is, and how we must all be able to shed the shell we are brought up in and make our own decisions; and to see for ourselves why our shell is shaped the way it is/was.

While this hatred action has many foundations of cause, from it we learn about the actions taken by each perpetrator (yes there were many more than 1, but only 1 who took it beyond public acceptance) and how to possibly prevent it in the future.
