Field Foreman Job Description



Foxglove Farm is seeking a field foreman for the 2009-2010 production season.



The field foreman will work under the direction of the farm manager supervising the day-to day management of farm operations.



Specific responsibilities and duties include but are not limited to:



· Day to day staff, intern, and volunteer management

· Directing all field operations; cultivation, irrigation, planting/transplanting, harvests, etc.

· Maintaining daily journal entries

· Crop/input/harvest record keeping

· Basic tool and equipment maintenance

· Maintaining a clean and orderly environment

· Management of all post harvest operations

· Management of seeds and propagation

· Support in CSA and farmers markets



Skills and Requirements



· Minimum 5 years market farming experience

· Good interpersonal and supervisory skills

· Knowledge of basic tools, machinery operation/ maintenance

· Good organizational skills

· Sense of humor
