PGPD to Conduct DUI Patrol Enforcements for 4th of July Weekend
The Prince George’s County Police Department’s Special Operations Division will be conducting DUI patrol enforcements in the central portion of the County on Friday, July 2, 2010 from 9:00 p.m. to 3:00 a.m. as part of a safe 4th of July holiday weekend.
The focus of the enforcements will be to reduce driving while intoxicated and injury collisions, while removing drunk drivers from the roadway. An increased amount of motorists and pedestrians will be traveling throughout the County for the holiday weekend and we want to make sure they arrive safely to their destinations. Each year drunk driving is a major cause of injury and fatal collisions. We want to send a message of zero tolerance to those who are considering driving a motor vehicle after consuming alcohol and encourage all drivers to designate a sober driver if they choose to drink.
