PHOENIX – Arizona Attorney General candidate Felecia Rotellini this morning challenged her opponent, politician Tom Horne, to three debates in communities around our state. Rotellini, a veteran prosecutor and financial watchdog, is calling for debates on key issues that directly impact Arizonans: border security, consumer fraud and elder abuse.

  • Debate No. 1 in Yuma: Border security. “I have a record of results on border security that Mr. Horne simply cannot match, including my case against Western Union that resulted in $5 million in fines for violating the laws designed to stop the flow of funds to human smugglers and drug runners,” Rotellini said.

  • Debate No. 2 in Sun City: Abuse of seniors. “You’ll recall that when the Baptist Foundation of Arizona preyed upon our seniors, I helped recover $217 million for elderly people who were victimized by the scam. I have successfully fought money laundering and financial fraud, and kept seniors in their homes,” Rotellini said.

  • Debate No. 3 in Phoenix: Consumer and mortgage fraud. “My record of results is crystal clear,” Rotellini said. “I’ve been fighting for Arizona families as a financial watchdog and consumer advocate for 17 years, and I look forward to this debate.”

Rotellini is supported by public safety organizations across our state, including the Professional Fire Fighters of Arizona, the Arizona Fraternal Order of Police and the Arizona Correctional Peace Officers Association. Yuma County Sheriff Ralph Ogden, La Paz County Sheriff Don Lowery, Apache County Sheriff Joseph Dedman and former Department of Public Safety Director and former Pinal County Sheriff Roger Vanderpool also have endorsed Rotellini. She has received the endorsements of the Tucson Chamber of Commerce, the Arizona Association of Realtors and The Arizona Republic.
