Company news Update for February 2009

By Jimmy Rowe - CEO of WebGo

International contractors and the local jobs market

Over the last few weeks, we’ve received numerous emails, and correspondence from people in India seeking to offer support in the area of web site design and development, and other areas in the IT development field. Some of the services being offered, whilst being at a lower price were not necessarily considered to be higher quality for what WebGo can get right here in Australia. So… whilst we do our best to engage the international business community, and Indian providers of IT services, WebGo is not looking to contract any international providers to fill the gaps in 2009.

Many of us at WebGo have seriously considered looking at trialling Indian and international contractors, however, for the near future we are strictly looking at Australian contractors to do the bulk of our work. In the current climate, Australia needs all the jobs it can get, and that’s why WebGo is serious when it comes to hiring the best people to be a part of our team from local communities.

WebGo on Social Networking

Our team is seriously expanding our presence among the social networking community. We are so happy with the benefits that it brings. Facebook being one such example, although current interest is limited obviously because of the demographics. Twitter has been providing some leads and interest in our product and service offering. However, currently the highest interest WebGo is getting in the social networking sphere is coming from Linkedin.

Our Linkedin page is currently set to me the CEO, Jimmy Rowe, and profiles my achievments. Please feel free to invite me as a friend, and I’ll happily accept you as a connection.

Linkedin has provided new people in the business community to come out and talk to me and WebGo. I appreciate the effort some people have gone to also in engaging and using the online WebGo poll that is a part of the Linkedin service. I encourage you to logon and have a look at the services on offer from Linkedin. Just think of it as facebook for grownups…
