Jheri is created a forum board for us at: http://forum.beyrownhero.com We will also use the board for planning for Hero Fest and to keep up with who's doing what each month for Food Not Bombs. Here's the notes from this month's meeting

BE YR OWN HERO FEST
date: September 5-6th (labor day weekend)
location: Soapbox, Wilmington NC

We broke it down into teams so that everything will run smoothly and not be overly stressful for everyone this year. teams are:

Street Team / Flyers - designing flyers, distributing them around town
Jheri (our awesome flyer designer!), Grace, Cristina

PR / Communications Team - creating Press Release, getting in touch with local and regional press & media, getting local organizations/groups/businesses involved with the fest
Grace, Scheli, Jheri, Selena, Lynn

Organizing Team - reviewing submissions, schedules, finding bands/presenters/etc that we want to come!
Christina D, Lynn, Kristin, Selena

Fundraising - planning fundraiser events prior to the fest
Laura, Grace, Cristina, Christina

(If any of that info is incorrect, just let me know. If you weren't at the meeting but want to help with the fest, please get in touch. If you have other ideas for things too, let us know. )

We are waiting to get confirmation from the Juggling Gypsy for the first fundraiser event which will be sometime in late April.
