My Grandfather, John (Jack) Osmon, used to own the house at the 'Old Mill Pond'. I can remember as a child, ice skating there durring the winter and hanging out on Grandpa's front porch durring the summer. Years later, my father came into ownership of the house. I remember at one point of him being contacted by the Historical Society. They wanted him to put the house on the Register. I don't know if he ever did or not.

My brother Ronnie and I were up there about 5 or 6 years ago, and beyond the addition to the side of the house that my grandfather built, it doesn't look any different than it did when I was a child.

I'd love to see what the house or property looked like in the begining, when it was first built, or if it even was a house to start with. I'd also like to know the story behind the property. If the Historical Society wanted it on the preservation list, then there must be some sort of history there. ... See More

I bet you were contacted by the Greene County Historical Society of Coxsackie, NY as they have a historical register program for old buildings. Our organization is less than three years old. I have a photo of an old house identified on the back as the old creamery pond house that I will upload this week.
