Exciting News: House Energy and Commerce Committee Deciding Critical Global Warming Policy
I’m writing this note to tell you about some exciting news. After eight years of global warming denial, our nation is finally on the verge of a breakthrough on climate change and clean energy.

This week, the House Energy and Commerce committee is deciding critical aspects of the American Clean Energy and Security Act- including initiatives to promote more clean energy and green jobs while cutting heat-trapping pollution. Not surprisingly, Big Oil, Big Coal and others with a stake in the status quo are fighting to stop this long-awaited revolution. We need your help today to ensure your Congressman doesn’t only hear from one of these invested interests.

Make sure this legislation passes by calling your representative in support of clean energy legislation.

In the coming weeks, the House of Representatives will, for the first time, vote on comprehensive legislation designed to create clean energy and reduce dangerous carbon pollution. The American Clean Energy and Security Act would also spur economic growth, create jobs and move America toward energy independence.

When you call, you'll leave a message stating your support for the bill, and the importance of dedicating a portion of the bill's revenues to help protect wildlife and wildlands from the impacts of climate change. Make your call now.

Remember, tell your representative to:

• Please address global warming and invest in our nation's clean economy by supporting the Waxman-Markey "American Clean Energy and Security Act of 2009."
• Our wildlife and wildlands are already struggling to adapt to a warming world. 5% of the bill’s allowance value should be invested in protecting public health and local economies across America by creating jobs that help our wildlands adapt to climate change.

Thanks so much for your help. Without you and all our Facebook supporters, we would not be able to continue advocating for much needed national policies that safeguard our wild places. So after you've made your call, won't you please tell us about it? Tell us by commenting on this note as well.

Best wishes,
Drew F. Bush
