Maryland AskUsNow!: June is National Safety Month!
June is National Safety Month!
National Safety Month, June 2009
When we think of June, we often think of getting out and about – to the beach, camping, spreading our wings. From home / office improvements and teen driving to road trips , this is the month to rethink ways in which we can keep safe.
There are a few popular sites for National Safety Months. The first comes from the National Safety Council:
http://www.nsc.org/
Updated information has been launched for the month, including free enrollment in two popular online training courses, June 1-7 only: Alive at 25® Parent Program," for parents of teen drivers (http://teendriver.nsc.org/), and "First Aid and CPR with AED" basic training for adults (http://www.safetyserve.com /firstaidnationalCPRweek/).
You can see more about these programs and access the links to the courses at:

For more about teen driving and safety, as well as other safety topics (including informative posters), see the National Safety Council’s site at:

This resource includes fire safety, health resources, home and personal safety.
There are a growing number of safety resources since technological changes and discoveries create new issues. Information can often be showcased on YouTube, such as NASA’s Child Safety Sensor (http://www.youtube.com/wat ch?v=dzQxvkWgDrk). Safety Issues offers a wide array of brief, online viewing over a variety of safety topics:

Finally, the Orange County Public Library system, of Florida, offers a humorous way to promote Wii safety using action G.I. Joe action figures:
