In conjunction with The Conundrum of Abundance (May 7-June 14), an exhibition of paintings by Chester Arnold, Scott Greene, and Julie Heffernan, the Center for Contemporary Art, Sacramento is pleased to present a lecture by Chester Arnold Thursday June 11th at 7:00 pm.
Chester Arnold will discuss his 40 year career as a painter and will reflect on what he has attempted to do in his work throughout that time. He will focus his discussion on the work he has created over the last decade, including those paintings on display in The Conundrum of Abundance.
Chester Arnold is an American artist born in 1952, and raised in post-war Germany. He lives and works in Sonoma, California, and is a full-time professor at the College of Marin. He is an award winning artist who has had numerous solo exhibitions in museums and galleries throughout California, in addition to participating nationally in exhibits across the U.S. and abroad. His work has been reviewed in various publications including Artweek, Artforum, and the San Francisco Chronicle. Arnold’s work is in prestigious public collections including the Museum of American Art, and the Smithsonian American Art Museum, in Washington D.C, as well as the Nevada Museum of Art in Reno Nevada and the San Jose Museum of Art.
