Who Uses Voice Mail? And How many?
Over 50,000 people have completed using TCCVM since we began in 1994. Since we began, they were on TCCVM an average of 178 days (about 6months). In 2008, 3,115 people completed their voice mail usage plus 1800 were using TCCVM at the end of the year for a total of 4.965. In 2008, people stayed on TCCVM a total of 244 days (about 8 months). People are using TCCVM longer now because of the economic downturn. The 3115 who completed usage had 1905 children. Of these participants, they attempted 8,293 goals and achieved 5,284 of them (64%)
• 1,758 people using TCCVM looking for work found jobs.
• 1,527 of the people using TCCVM were homeless and used TCCVM to connect with landlords to find homes for themselves and their children.
• 282 victims of domestic abuse found safety while using TCCVM.
• 755 people without phones who needed to stay in touch with health care providers achieved their goals.
• 822 people without phones who needed social services agencies achieved their goals.

53% of TCCVM users are African American, 26% are white, 9% are Native American, 4% are Hispanic, 1% are Asian, and 8% are bi or multi-cultural. 60% are between the ages of 26-44, 18% are between 19 and 25, 17% are over 45, and 4% are under the age of 18. 69% are unemployed and 66% are homeless. 14% are disabled.
