Shirley Manson: Everybody Knows This Is Nowhere
Everybody Knows This Is Nowhere
A few things to set straight:
The record company who had an issue with my music was Geffen Records....NOT Warner Brothers as has been widely reported in the ether or otherwise.
Geffen thought my music was "too noir" for their tastes which is fair enough but why they signed me in the first place is a bit confusing based on my discography.
I asked my A+R guy to let me off the label because they obviously had a different vision for my career than I did.
He said that we didn't have different visions at all but that Geffen Records expected excellence from me, nothing more. I wondered silently to myself how come The PussyCat Dolls didn't have to adhere to that same principle.
Anyways..........Geffen dropped me an hour before I got signed up to play a Terminator on tv.
I felt like it was meant to be.
Secondly:
Don't believe everything you read on the internet. I never said that I wrote music with Jack White, Billy Corgan OR the very lovely and talented Beck. Someone else did and so it got written up that I did in the press but it never happened. At least not in the real world. Maybe in my head.
Thirdly:
It is fun to play a Terminator on tv. You get to poke your finger in the eyes of boys who disrespect you.
That's all.
