Two Traps to Avoid in Spiritual Warfare:
Fear and Pride

Fear
Jesus is our Victor

* “He has delivered us from the domain of darkness and transferred us to the kingdom of his beloved Son” (Col. 1:13).
* “And you, who were dead in your trespasses and the uncircumcision of your flesh, God made alive together with him, having forgiven us all our trespasses, by canceling the record of debt that stood against us with its legal demands. This he set aside, nailing it to the cross. He disarmed the rulers and authorities and put them to open shame, by triumphing over them in him” (Col. 2:13–15).
* “…greater than he who is in the world” (1 John 4:4).
* “. . . in all these things we are more than conquerors through him who loved us. For I am sure that neither death nor life, nor angels nor rulers, nor things present nor things to come, nor powers, nor height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God in Christ Jesus our Lord” (Rom. 8:37–39).
* “…The reason the Son of God appeared was to destroy the works of the devil” (1 John 3:8).
* “… that through death he might destroy the one who has the power of death, that is, the devil, and deliver all those who through fear of death were subject to lifelong slavery” (Heb. 2:14–15).
* “But you, o Lord, are a shield about me, my glory, and the lifter of my head” (Ps. 3:3).
* “My shield is with God, who saves the upright in heart” (Ps. 7:10).
* “The Lord is my rock and my fortress and my deliverer, my God, my rock, in whom I take refuge, my shield, and the horn of my salvation, my stronghold” (Ps. 18:2).

Spiritual Pride
Satan would loves for us to engage him filled with spiritual pride. Many people do this unwittingly.

Jude 8 In the very same way, these dreamers pollute their own bodies, reject authority and slander celestial beings. 9 But even the archangel Michael, when he was disputing with the devil about the body of Moses, did not dare to bring a slanderous accusation against him, but said, "The Lord rebuke you!"

Acts 19:13 They would say, "In the name of Jesus, whom Paul preaches, I command you to come out." … 15 One day the evil spirit answered them, "Jesus I know, and I know about Paul, but who are you?" 16 Then the man who had the evil spirit jumped on them and overpowered them all. He gave them such a beating that they ran out of the house naked and bleeding.

1. What about Binding & Loosing? (it’s about church discipline, not sacerdotalism. It refers to the authority Christ grants his church when dealing in judicial matters among the unrepentant.)

Matthew 16:18 And I tell you that you are Peter, and on this rock I will build my church, and the gates of Hades will not overcome it. 19 I will give you the keys of the kingdom of heaven; whatever you bind on earth will be bound in heaven, and whatever you loose on earth will be loosed in heaven."

Matthew 18:17 If he refuses to listen to them, tell it to the church; and if he refuses to listen even to the church, treat him as you would a pagan or a tax collector. 18 "I tell you the truth, whatever you bind on earth will be bound in heaven, and whatever you loose on earth will be loosed in heaven. 19 "Again, I tell you that if two of you on earth agree about anything you ask for, it will be done for you by my Father in heaven. 20 For where two or three come together in my name, there am I with them."

2. Should we speak to demons or pray to Jesus?

3. Should we “plea the blood of Jesus” over things. (What is the biblical basis for this? )

What, then, are the biblical spiritual combat tactics for believers? What does the Scripture clearly say?

Biblical Battle Moves

1. Armor Up
Ephesians 6:10 Finally, be strong in the Lord and in his mighty power. 11 Put on the full armor of God so that you can take your stand against the devil's schemes. 12 For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms. 13 Therefore put on the full armor of God, so that when the day of evil comes, you may be able to stand your ground, and after you have done everything, to stand.

(Belt of truth, breastplate of righteousness, sandals of the gospel, shield of faith, helmet of salvation, sword of the spirit. - these are all synonyms for salvation.)

2. Prayer
Matt 6:13 And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from the evil one.'

3. Scripture (sword of the Spirit)
Matt 4 – “It is written” x3

4. R & R (repentance and resistance)
James 4:7 Submit yourselves, then, to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you.

5. Believe (the truth, not the lie)
2 Cor 10:4 The weapons we fight with are not the weapons of the world. On the contrary, they have divine power to demolish strongholds. 5 We demolish arguments and every pretension that sets itself up against the knowledge of God, and we take captive every thought to make it obedient to Christ.
Those who've got it get it. Those who don't won't. And those who get it give it away. [A biblical explanation why seeing, some never perceive... and how to avoid that trap.]
For those left unsatisfied by counterfeits and substitutes, Jesus offers to quench the thirst that drives us and invites us to the source of satisfaction.
For those burned out and broken down beneath the weight of religion, Jesus offers this simple invitation: Come and find rest.

From "The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe"
"Ooh!" said Susan, "I'd thought he was a man. Is he - quite safe? I shall feel rather nervous about meeting a lion."

"That you will, dearie, and no mistake," said Mrs. Beaver, "if there's anyone who can appear before Aslan without their knees knocking, they're either braver than most or else just silly."

"Then he isn't safe?" said Lucy.

"Safe?" said Mr. Beaver. "Don't you hear what Mrs. Beaver tells you? Who said anything about safe? 'Course he isn't safe. But he's good. He's the King, I tell you."
