Hey AIESEC CHANDIGARH!
Hey wasssssah?!?!
http://picasaweb.google.co m/aiesec.chandigarh.jnc200 8
Thoughts I had right after JNC:
As I have touched on one time during one of the delegation meetings and I have said before, AIESEC is fundamentally built from the passion we each hold for our organization, the compassion we possess for each other, and the drive to accomplish our majestic goals. From my @ experiences across the world, nowhere has this resonated with me the most as when I see @Chandi in action. It's not only the end accomplishments thats makes a quality @XP - its rather the attitude, enthusiasm, and energy that one approaches it with. Seeing that every member of this LC was dedicated to attend all Opening Plenaries and sessions, the magnitude of the LC rollcalls we shouted, the emphatic degree to which we danced our opening jive, and the @ spirit that each one of you guys possessed throughout the conference is an inspiring thing for any @er to witness.
Again, this LC is internationally known to have great traineeship experiences, and @Chandigarh is indeed one of the best places for trainees in India (and the world for that matter!). You guys place quality right up there with quantity. Here, we as trainees are not just a number nor a millimeter on the master bar chart of exchange. The most minuscule of gestures, such as dropping by to our trainee houses just to say hi and inviting us to your LC events, will be forever appreciated.
Your LC consists of the most charismatic, intelligent, witty, genuine people I have certainly met at the conference. Each member approached their @XPs the same way in which I do, a way that continually exemplifies maximal capitalization of…everything! Each of you guys not only seizes opportunities that come your way – you create them. Chasing after the one you crush on, taking a picture to capture a memory you cherish, braving standing up to share your thoughts to the whole JNC delegation, assisting each other with clothes, makeup and turbans, voicing your appreciation for each other…there are so many memories that I have sincerely taken to heart.
With any experience one encounters, I strongly feel that it's all about what one puts into it that directly determines the outcome. While it's the intangibles I value the most from AIESEC, its more than providing leadership opportunities and the skills you develop for yourself in doing so. When deadlines are looming and times may get tough, it's the feeling of accomplishment at the end of the day that keeps me motivated to do AIESEC each day. I see much of my own LC in the one I am a member of here. The family community atmosphere that is so inherent and characteristic of your LC is one that only the best of LCs have achieved over time.
Congratulations, @ Chandigarh. I do think I share the sentiments of many trainees here when I say that while at times it may seem otherwise, I am proud of you all as an LCP, trainee, @er, and heck, just as a living being. The passion you each hold for your organization, the love and compassion you express for each other have always shone through your work and daily interactions. No matter how you are ranked in @India, @Chandi is a model LC for all LCs of the global AIESEC Association – you have facilitated and directly impacted the local youth of India and the world. You all have achieved the social change we talk about in AIESEC that would have made even the founders of AIESEC proud. Moreover, you each continue each day to strive to achieve more.
As Manveer (the quote master) so amazingly articulated at LN Day, "It takes one person to start an evolution."
The ability of harnessing the power of students, or a single individual for that matter, should never be underestimated. Thank you to each of you for an experience of a lifetime and keep on rocking AIESEC and the world!

Mission accomplished! (well, one of them) Captured in the purest form on camera, inter-LC integration! Mad props to the DU dude who took the pic next to me with the idea to shout HEY AIESEC! just before we snapped it.
Print it. Blow it up. Frame it. Then cuddle up and sleep with it.
Classic pic for years to come. =D
---------------
If any of you or the others who went to JNC want to post pics and have Picasa, you guys can do so by uploading with the following info:
email: aiesec.chandigarh.jnc2008@
password: Pondicherry
If you have picasa, you can click on any album and click on the bottom left corner where it says Download Album, and it will magically do so (ooooh)! Another way is to go to the middle computer in the aiesec office. I have saved all the pics (and videos!) under D: drive ---> AIESEC CHANDIGARH ---> JNC 2008 pics! Not sure if that is the correct domain to share the pics in the network so that it's accessible to all the computers, but if not, then you can move it to where it is shared...or just leaving it too is an option.
Adeel's powerpoint and Pakistani music is also in that folder, along with all the videos from the conference including the trainee rollcall and jive, Tushar's drunk but great rendition of Manveer's quotes at the closing plenary, etc. - check all these out!
--------------
Also, a request for anyone who could help me:
I was wondering if I could have the song that we did for our rollcall in opening planery....and could take a video of someone doing it? If they don't want to be filmed, just teaching it to me would be great! My LC prides itself on our rollcalls (which are usually always jives in the US) and have gotten praise for it in the past (ooh Laura and I could show you one that she choreographed last fall!). Our very recent one involved a traditional Japanese dance. A rollcall that would blow the fishies out of the water would be for my LC to bring back a bit of each of the host country/LC rollcalls of those on traineeships on 4 continents into one big mix of cultural jives for our next conference. I will ask my members on exhchage to try to pick up some smooth dance moves, and Laura and I definitely need to represent Punjabis and India in it.
Thanks for yo help!
Sorry for the looong email...just wanted to express my thoughts. See each of you guys sometime soon!
As one of my roommates said last year in Morocco,
"You guys make this place home for me."
Agreed.
Love you all like the family I have back in @Illinois,
Cynthia
Proud member and trainee of @Chandi
I cannot even begin to describe how amazingly magical my 8 weeks in Morocco were. I flew to Morocco this summer 4 days after I found out I was leaving and came home only to find myself catching up after missing the first week of school. The fact that I left so suddenly and returned immediately to reality has only made the whole trip seem like just a dream too good to be true. It's still so surreal that just 1 week ago tonight I was at an all-night full-out Moroccan wedding with Charlotte and that just a few days ago I was sharing my last memories on the apartment balcony with friends I had come to love like family. I have said before that I owe a major part of who I am to the experiences I have had, the cultures I have been immersed in, and the people I have interacted with while abroad. You all have touched my life in so many ways, and I have learned so much about not only Morocco and Islam, but also about the world, people, humanity, life, friendships, myself and so much more. I am humbled and honored to have spent this part of my life getting to know each of you, and I feel that while I was there with you guys, I really was the person that I want to be. I have grown so much thanks to each of you and all the experiences I have had in Morocco.
I am so blessed to have called each of you my family and what Ashley wrote to me is true indeed, "Morocco will forever be in your heart and you will be forever changed." We were all at similar points in our lives and never did I really feel much younger or less mature. I am still so impressed how we all got along so well, even sharing one shower! I said the first week I was there that I know I would really miss the hallmark balcony and Kamil said, "It's not the balcony you will miss, it's the people." Never would I have thought we would have so many good memories there. To the Moroccan AIESECers and non-AIESECers, I am so thankful that you guys all took us in and were such good friends and hosts throughout the whole trip, I couldn't have asked for anyone better. From picking us up to our resident Moroccan in the apt, from organizing trips to taking us to the opening of your pub, from discussing the world to opening up your homes to us, you guys made all of our experiences possible and we will all be forever grateful for that.
Here's a shout out to some of you guys:
- Vereny - my gorgeous German roomie! i can't believe we spent pretty much every day together...you are probably the only one who understands my whole block of memories below. sharing is really caring with you - especially since we shared everything, from cereal to spliting salads and tank tops to scarves. you made this trip so much fun for me. solidarity sister! see you in Madrid in the spring! heaps upon heaps of kisses.
- (Oh,) Allen! - my former roomie, you are such a calming spirit - the most lax guy i have ever met and for sure the one that kept us all sane on our weekend trips. we all saw you grow and mature throughout the 2 months, and you set an example to all guys around the world. you are so funny and i still would never have guessed Morocco was your first time abroad. you could bring yourself anywhere and be fine, you were there when we needed a guy around to protected us, with an empty sidi ali water bottle or not! we all saw you grow and mature throughout the 2 months. i can't believe I didn't meet you at spring RokS my hometown! hmmm CEED in AIESEC Iran perhaps?
- Christina - our roomie in spirit. You are such a hilarious girl and even tho being a CEEDer in Palestine would be good, I'm so glad you came to Morocco b/c then I got to meet you (and Allen!). the 4 of us have shared so many memories together. Moroccan husbands? wait, what? you have the best smile ever and all the laughs and jokes we all had were inspired by you. You have such a way with people and I have always enjoyed my time with you, from shopping to travelling to swimming and getting splashed by creepos in the mediterranean sea. see you two some weekend soon at OSU!!
- Catarina - our Portugese mom. I loved when you said after your birthday, "I'm 24 now, I'm old enough to be your mom!" lol You are such a strong woman that we all admire, thanks for taking care of us all!
sorry, still in the process of finishing up this note....but....

It was only a couple months ago, but it was really just like a really good dream that I didn't want to end! In the year we have all known each other in and outside of our classes, we were finally able to get to know each other for real as the amazing people we each are.
From the plane trip to the boat trip to the long bus rides, from the late nights to early mornings, from the bank presentations to beer factory assembly lines, from touring our designer hotel floors in Rio to our paradise of a hotel in Paraty, from karoke and catchphrase in the bus to "WAKE UP!! LOOK TO THE LEFT!", from midnight dips in the pool or ocean to oversleeping, from channel 74 to overtaking hotels/gas stations/restaurants and everywhere else, from Captain Papa John steering our boat to sychronized jumping off the side of the boat and swimming to shore in the rain, from manis and pedis to waxes, from brazilian stakehouses to pao de quejo, from high school visits to USP - "the Harvard of South America", from waiting for the clouds to part to get a glimpse of Jesus the Redeemer or a fat ray of sunshine that early morning, from samba dancing to walking it out, from our personal tour bus to stalling taxis in traffic (thanks muff for saving the day...twice!), from hennas of lizards, bats, and chinese characters to actual tattoos, from guarana to guava juice, from drinking coconuts to passion fruit caipirinhas...
...from seeing the forever extending city of Sao Paulo to exploring Paraty at night, from the Argentinian spray paint artist to taxi drivers disliking Bush, from the Caution: football players street sign in the favela to the intense fans of the Botofogo-Althletico football game in Maracanas, from USP t-shirts to strikes, from the best churros in the world to sharing chocolate deserts mixed with pinapple, from hours of card games at the airport to invisible volleyball on the beach, from surprise cheese bread to steak/french fry, sushi, ice cream, and chocolate pizzas, from getting wet in the waterfall to being in a cloud on Corcovado, from piggy banks to chicken hearts, from pinching each other to stay awake to the coffee shots during presentations, from makeovers and braids in the hotel room to sharing our deepest, darkest secrets on the bus at night while piling 6 of us in 2 seats, from polos and khakis to Ronaldinho jerseys, from the 3-D video at the Bovespa Stock Exchange to playing on the playground in the SP rain forest park, from Brazilian sleeping beauties to everyone passing out on the plane ride home, from "that's what she said!" to "If I ain't sleepin than nobody sleepin!"...the laughs and memories are endless...
I made it a point to try to get to know all of you guys on this trip and am so forever grateful I was given the chance to do so...so more of my fav moments...
