The good news keeps coming for Jessica whose debut album BEEN WAITING will be released in Japan and the UK this year.
Now featuring three massive hits (Running Back, Burn and Been Waiting), BEEN WAITING will be released in Japan on April 22nd. ‘Running Back’ has already been a #2 ringtone on Japan’s biggest ringtone provider ‘Rekochoku’.
BEEN WAITING will also be released in the UK later this year on the Ministry of Sound label, with the first single being ‘Burn’, which has been a #1 hit in Australia.
With a debut album featuring three hit singles and more to come, 2009 is shaping up to be the biggest year yet for Jessica Mauboy!

She may have been pipped to the post in 2006 Australian Idol but there was no second place for Jess Mauboy tonight as she swept up the prestigious Best Aussie Act gong. The 19-year-old Darwin diva was over the moon and no wonder - the competition was tougher than an overcooked kangaroo burger. The singer who performed hits 'Burn' and 'Been Waiting' earlier in the show left electro lords The Presets, punk poppets The Veronicas, veteran rockers The Living End and gorgeous Gabriella Cilmi mopping their tears in her wake. Idol seems like a distant memory after this, eh? Prepare for international ears to be well and truly pricked, lady.

Hi everyone! Quick update from Jess HQ. A little while ago Jess recorded some very special ACOUSTIC tracks at a small studio in Sydney's inner west. Sony Music's cameraman went along to film all the action (including Jess' publicist doing the robot dance!).

Jessica Mauboy is celebrating a fantastic start to 2009 with her single "Burn" hitting the #1 spot on the ARIA singles chart this week! "Burn" is the follow up single to her DOUBLE PLATINUM smash hit "Running Back" featuring Flo Rida, taken from her debut solo album BEEN WAITING. The teenager from Darwin is burning up the charts with BEEN WAITING already achieving GOLD status and climbing to #12 on the ARIA albums chart this week, and "Running Back", which reached #3 on the singles chart, still in the Top 20 after 15 weeks!
On hearing the news Jessica said, "My Dad is so excited! In true Darwin spirit he is taking me out fishing for barramundi this weekend to celebrate!"
Fans can celebrate with Jessica this Australia Day long weekend at the Australia Day Live concert in Canberra on Sunday, with crowds of up to 35,000 expected on the lawns of Parliament House. Jessica has also been invited to perform for the Prime Minister and other dignitaries at The Lodge on Australia Day - a great honour for this young Indigenous Australian.
