Powys County Times's Notes

View: Full | Compact
A BIRD'S Eye View of Montgomeryshire is in the shops today, and is packed with 24 pages of pictures from around the area.

The Bird's Eye View of our beautiful Montgomeryshire from the air has been photographed by Phil Blagg, chief photographer at the County Times.

There are pictures galore from Newtown, Welshpool, Llanidloes, Montgomery, Llanfyllin and Llanfair Caereinion.

There are also shots of villages including Berriew, Guilsfield, Bishops Castle, as well as some stunning countryside views.

Phil took the pictures from a Cessna 172 piloted by Ian Smith which took off from Welshpool's own Mid Wales Airport.

All of the pictures are available for sale, and can be bought in a variety of formats, from regular photographs to mousemats.
HOW does Memory Lane compare with today's streets? Has Montgomeryshire really changed that much?
Next week the County Times is bringing out a 24-page special in which we look at towns and villages of Montgomeryshire then & now.

It is packed with old pictures from across the county, including Welshpool, Newtown, Llanfair Caereinion, Machynlleth, Llanidloes, Montgomery, Llanfyllin, plus many of the smaller villages.

And we're tried our hardest - although it wasn't always possible - to replicate every picture, so you can see it then... and now.

Then & Now will be in the shops on Thursday, February 26, priced just £1. Don't miss out...
