Wild Trivia Tour's Notes

One answer tomorrow will deal with a “first” in Space exploration history.

Within the next couple of weeks, it would be a good idea to find out what the answer is to the final “Who Wants To Be a Millionaire” question was in the film “Slumdog Millionaire”.

Congratulations to The Lifeguards of the Gene Pool for an impressive victory tonight.  With just 4 members in attendence, they landed 53 of 60 questions for 1430 points to win the night.  They also added another hogger to their credit.  That ties them with The Lost Generation for a season-leading 2 hoggers.

We had 10 teams on the deck tonight, which makes those hoggers even more valuable.  Nameless and Reasonably Clean scored the other two hoggers on the evening.

The top three teams tonight were:

  • Lifeguards of the Gene Pool – 1430 points
  • The Lost Generation – 1225 points
  • Nameless – 1122 points

Since we have started to track “per capita points”, the Zipperheads have produced an impressive 881 points per player in the first three contests.

Top Per Capita performance tonight went to:

  • Lifeguards of the Gene Pool – 4 players for 357 pts per player
  • The Lambkins – 2 players for 267 pts per player
  • Zipperheads – 4 players for 249 pts per player

Thanks to all of our teams for showing up!

See you all next week!

Movie Quotes!

Oh…and did anyone watch The Grammy’s on Sunday?  It won’t be audio, but there will be some questions on it.

See you Tuesday!

In our second company party in a row, the winning team called their shot by giving themself a “winning” name.

Two weeks ago it was a team called “We’re #1”, and this time “The Winners” took home the top prize, Certificates of Higher Intellect and bragging rights for a year at the Missouri Valley Petroleum party.

We packed in 80+ players on the deck at the Elks for a rowdy round of trivia!  With 1 hogger and 619 points, “The Winners” answered 23 of 40 questions correct.  That was actually tied with another team for number of questions correct, but it was the hogger that tip the scales.

Thanks for a GREAT time!  What a fun group.

Enjoy your bragging rights!

Just like Babe Ruth pointing to the wall, “We’re #1” called it during the National Association of Insurance and Financial Advisors conference in Bismarck.

They had 1 hogger and 950 points to take the title.  They answered an impressive 26 out of 40 questions to take home the “Certificate of Higher Intellect” and the bragging rights for one year.  Congratulations to them!

Congratulations to the Lost Generation for another weekly victory at the Elks Team Trivia league!  They started off the evening HUGE with a hogger in the 240 point round.  They never looked back.  They ended the evening with 1466 points and a total of 46 out of 60 correct.

The A-Team was also back with a vengence tonight.  After missing last week, they opened up their new season with a second place finish (1070 points and 43 correct).

The Zipperheads finished 3rd with 985 points and 38 correct on the evening.

We have started to track a new statistic this season which is “Points Per Capita”.  The new leaderboard reflects these figures.  In a nutshell, we are going to reward teams at the end of the season for a total point performance, as always, and will now include the team who delivered the “most bang for the buck”.  We will take attendance numbers for each team and divide their score for that week.  The team with the highest points per capita will also reap the rewards!  After two weeks, the Zipperheads are dominating this leader board with an average of 632 points per player.  They play with an average of 3 players and still manage to place in the top 3 each week.  We think performances like that deserve something.  We are excited to watch the teams rise and fall on this new leader board.  It will add yet another element to our Tuesday night craziness!

You can find our updated season leader boards here.

We appreciate all of our teams and have a blast each week.

Remember:  NO TRIVIA NEXT WEEK, FEBRUARY 3RD!!  Our next Tuesday Team Trivia night will be February 10th!  Please check our schedule page often for details.

Until then…

I’m thinking that this week’s audio round will involve TV Theme shows, new and old!

For the past several years of Bismarck Surgical Associate holiday parties, we have had a good time giving Todd a hard time because of his “perfect record” of ending up at the bottom of the leader board.  He’s taken it all in stride, even with a smile on his face.  But this year he is smiling for a whole new reason.  “Todd’s Team” dominated the contest right from the word go and never looked back.  With 2 hoggers and 597 points, they will hang the Certificates of Higher Intelligence with pride (and bragging rights) for the next year.

Thank you for having us back, we always enjoy working with your group.  Now we just have to find someone else to “pick on”.

All hail Todd’s Team!

Congratulations to The Lost Generation, who staged a last minute comeback to win Week #1 of the new Elks Team Trivia League.  They scored 1087 points and had 50 our of 60 correct on the night.

It was a VERY close race with Nameless coming in 2nd with 1004 points scoring 49 out of 60 questions correct.

The Lifeguards of the Gene Pool took 3rd, but only by ONE point.  They had one of the only hoggers on the evening, with the other hogger going to The Bobbleheads.

We had 9 teams (with a missing A-Team), so things are going to really be close this season!  Hoggers will be extremely hard to accomplish and really change the perspective on an evening!

Thanks again to all of our teams who have turned out for another season.
