Our client company is comprised of a team of experienced strategists and designers who deliver Visible Strategy, the synthesis of business strategy, brand expertise and design that is fundamental to effective brand communication. They offer corporate and brand identity, positioning, naming, visual identity, internal and external communications, investor and employee communications, marketing and advertising services. Their clients include Ford, JP Morgan Chase, McGraw-Hill, Searchlight Funds, Schering-Plough, Thomson and Time Warner.
Position Overview
They are seeking a head of business development (HBD) to serve as the internal brand/marketing manager for the company and to be responsible for growth, development and successful communication of the Brand to its target customers. The HBD will drive their own new revenue streams, partner closely with the Director of Strategy and work with the Chairman & CEO, currently the main driver of new business, as needed.
The responsibilities of the HBD will revolve around identifying and developing client relationships that allow for the sustainable growth and expansion of the company within the confines of the agreed upon strategy and vision. The role will include generating new clients and relationships, in addition to careful and proactive high level account/relationship management and extension. Although simple in its core objective, the role is dynamic and complex and will require a seasoned executive who can successfully deliver in the following areas:
Participating in the development and implementation of a strategic and tactical plan that will consistently produce new business opportunities and revenue growth
Developing and managing of all proactive (non-Chairman & CEO) lead generation activities
Establishing and nurturing a productive network of clients
Managing the internal development and positioning of the company
Responding to RFPs
Participation in the development and implementation of the marketing plan for the company
Participating in the development of all marketing collateral and "sales support" materials (website, brochures, credentials presentation, etc)
Participating in the management of the strategic planning process for the company (including short/medium and long-term objectives, performance metrics, growth and revenue targets, etc)
Extending existing boundaries and establishing new capabilities (e.g. digital) in line with the strategic direction and intent of the company
Introducing and managing a business development and engagement culture within the business
Developing and driving the communications for the company
Identifying industry conferences, events, and other marketing activities the firm should be leveraging
Key Attributes
The HBD role will require a multi-disciplinary approach beyond just 'a sale of service to a client'. It will require a deep understanding of the company's brand and business model, as well as:

Track record consistently delivering at least $1-1.5 million per year in new business
5-15+ years experience on the consulting/agency side in Corporate Branding/Identity, Corporate/Marketing Communications, Consumer Branding, Digital/Interactive Branding/Communications
Four-year Bachelor's degree minimum; MBA preferred

They design and manufacture a wide variety of display and media products, home appliances, and telecommunications devices. Our Clients' Integrated Design Team is looking for a Lead Interaction Designer (Lead IxD) to create company-wide experiences that inspire customers and embody the company's brand. They want someone who can balance thinking strategically and taking interaction design to the next level with the realities of managing execution through external firms. The Lead IxD should have finely tuned interactive skills, a high taste level in visual design or strong visual design skills, and deep knowledge of user-centered design process.
