ASPCA and Subaru "Dog Tested. Dog Approved."
Inspired by their owners, Subaru has built a strong partnership with the ASPCA to help bring pets and people together. In 2009 as part of a two-year commitment, Subaru donated $5,000, time and additional resources to ASPCA partner organizations providing colorfully-wrapped, co-branded Subaru vehicles, local support, and additional events, in six communities (Austin, TX; Charleston, SC; New York, NY; Philadelphia, PA; Spokane, WA; and Tampa, FL).
Share the Love began in 2008 as a unique marketing campaign based on the love Subaru owners have for their vehicles, combined with Subaru owners' tendency for having a desire to help worthy causes. Subaru recognized the pet homelessness problem and wanted to help animal welfare groups across the country to raise awareness for the issue and increase adoptions, especially during the holiday season. In 2008, the ASPCA received close to $1.2 million from this extraordinary campaign and was the #1 consumer choice. During Subaru's Share the Love program in 2009, dealers hosted adoption days events finding homes for more than 321 animals and raising $28,000 for local participating shelters.
The ASPCA and Subaru continue to work together and create programs to make it easy to connect Subaru dealers and local animal welfare groups bringing pets and people together. Many of the 600 Subaru dealers are planning collaborations with shelters on adoption events, pet food drives, and other awareness-builders and fundraisers.
