BEFORE KNOWING HOW AND WHERE YOU CAN HELP, HERE ARE A FEW REMINDERS.

So a lot of people have been asking how they can help. There are different groups currently organizing relief operations in Iligan City and Cagayan de Oro City, but we need more help in terms of volunteers, monetary support, and relief goods.

Suan thanks fro the info drive....we did the same here in Kauswagan Central Sch CDO...where hundreds of our pupils were affected and in need of food & water...my classroom is now one of the evacuation center of several homeless families...5 infants slept with their siblings in mats with wet clothes..so heartbreaking...nananwagan ako sa mga maswerte na di nasalanta share your blessings guys

  People need drinking water. Posted early this afternoon by a cousin in CDO (translated from Bisaya):
  
  "Last Saturday, there were dead bodies everywhere in the area near Marcos Bridge which is about a five-minute walk from where I'm staying.... Dead bodies line the rotunda near the bridge going to SM. That's where they laid the dead. Corpses strewn along the streets were merely covered with banana leaves. Some funeral parlors even ask people retrieving their dead to pay Php 5,000. Take note, the bodies are not even clean 'cause there's no water! There's no water supply; water is like gold here now. Free drinking water is difficult to find. A total devastation."See More

- Faizza Farinna Tanggol If you want to help Typhoon Sendong victims through Sagip Kapamilya, we encourage monetary donations instead of in-kind because of transportation difficulties. This money will then be used to buy the needed relief goods in the Northern Mindanao. There is also no call for volunteers to repack here in Manila because of the same reasons. Repacking are done on-site already.

- Boggs Tanggol Basic medicine for fever, colds, pain, etc. Medical teams in ECs are also short in bandages and other basic items used for treating scrapes and other wounds.

I spoke with nurses and nursing students who volunteered as part of the medical team at MSU-IIT, they intimated the fact that medicine and other medical items are lacking in said EC. So I would advise that you look at the options available and decide where you think your donations would be most needed. Thanks!
