Help police identify "wobbly" thief
Boynton Beach police need the public’s help to identify a man who used stolen credit cards to make hundreds of dollars worth of purchases at a Publix, Walgreen’s, Burger King and Hess gas station in Lake Worth on October 15.
The credit cards were taken during a burglary to a Ford F-150 truck in the Via Lugano community in Boynton Beach earlier that day. The total loss from the damages to the truck, burglary and fraud is $936.64.
The man appeared unsteady on his feet and under the influence of something as he used a stolen credit card at a Walgreen’s on Lantana Road. Surveillance video of the fraud can be seen on the Boynton Beach Police Department’s YouTube Channel: http://www.youtube.com/wat ch?v=7ugDzRqsLBk
Detectives said that this case is similar to 37 other auto burglaries that have occurred in the city from Sept. 1 – Nov. 4. In those cases, all the vehicles were pick-up trucks, mostly Ford F series, and the door locks were punched in a similar manner. In addition, all the burglaries occurred within about three miles from the October 15 auto burglary in Via Lugano.
Detectives are looking into the possible that the suspect who used the stolen credit cards is involved in the auto burglaries.
Anyone with information is asked to call Detective Michael Vail at 561-742-6159, Sgt. Frank Ranzie at 561-742-6132 or Crime Stoppers of Palm Beach County at 800-458-TIPS. Anonymous tips can also be submitted via www.bbpd.org
