Canadian Country Music Week 2012 in Saskatoon!
Wow, what an unbelievably fun week we had in Saskatoon! This was our second CCMAs and it was fantastic! (Saskatoon – you’ve set the bar really high!!)
I wanted to write a blog post about this week because there were so many great moments and so many amazing people that Carli and I want to thank. Where do I start?!…
We arrived Wednesday night and attended the first (of many!) Sirroma Entertainment showcases at the Radisson. What a great way to kick off the week! Thursday was the official first day of the CCMAs and we had a blast travelling to the Kickoff Party and New Artist Showcase in a limo (thanks to Ruben from Havelock Country Jamboree!)
We have to give a shoutout to our amazing fellow BCCMA artist KYLEE EPP who was the first new artist on stage and ROCKED IT! She definitely made BC proud!
Friday afternoon was our showcase on the Sirroma Entertainment stage and we want to say a HUGE THANK YOU to everyone who came out! You were such a fun crowd and we had a blast playing for you. To Angie and everyone at Sirroma Entertainment, Ranchmans, the sponsor of our showcase, i see Associates, RockitGirl Group, and Anya Wilson Promotion & Publicity: THANK YOU for making it happen! We loved having the chance to perform our first show during CCMA week!
PERFORMING AT THE DIAMONDS IN THE ROUGH SHOWCASE:
We also performed Friday night at the CCMA open mic hosted by our friends and fabulous musicians PEAR. What a fun night! There were so many great artists and we left feeling very inspired!
Saturday at the CCMAs was a jam-packed day of excitement. We enjoyed the Round Tables sponsored by RDR Music Group, saw a couple amazing songwriter rounds, and had a great time at the Gala Awards and reception.
POSING WITH FRIENDS - Fellow artist, Livy Jeanne, and Songwriter Duo No Limitz:
Even though we went to bed WAY too late on Saturday night (thanks to MDM Recordings for the awesome party!), we made sure to get up on Sunday morning to see Paul Brandt’s keynote speech. He talked about building your brand as an artist and staying true to what you believe in, both in your music and the way you present yourself. What a great speech! If it’s possible, we left even bigger fans of Paul than before. The Great Guitar Pull, a fantastic songwriter’s round, followed the keynote speech. I definitely teared up at this one… I think both Carli and I did. The songs were so beautiful and so incredibly incredible (yep!) - it made me excited to come home and just WRITE WRITE WRITE!
The entire week was capped off with the amazing Canadian Country Music Awards. Congrats to all of the nominees, winners, and performers – the show was FABULOUS! Thanks to Ole Music for a ball of a party after the awards show. It was so much fun to see all of our new and old music friends and dance the night away one more time before we all parted ways on Monday.
POSING WITH FRIENDS - Amazing Songwriter Tim Taylor and the Canadian Country Music Hall of Fame's newest inductee, Ralph Murphy:
Thank you SO MUCH to our amazing team – Irene Carroll, Kit Watson, Kieran Strange, Kitty O’Neill, and Dale Peters – for making this weekend so unforgettable! We love you all!!!
Thanks to Maureen Patricia for our beautiful dresses! We always feel fabulous in your amazing designs!
And last but certainly not least, thanks to Saskatoon and the CCMA for a fabulous Country Music Week! We can't wait for next year!
