This notification focuses on weather and other unforeseen events that disrupt the normal school schedule for DoDEA Pacific schools only. The information below does not include federal holidays, pre-scheduled teacher work days, inservice days or other professional development events unique to each school. This note will only be updated when a change occurs. The last status posted remains the current status.

KANTO WEATHER UPDATE: Due to inclement weather, all Yokosuka complex DoD schools (inc. Byrd ES and Ikego ES), Zama American Middle and High schools, and Arnn ES will all operate on a 2-hour DELAY tomorrow (Mon. 2/10) for students and employees except admin. However, Lanham ES is not impacted and will operate on a normal schedule. 


All DoD schools on Yokota AB will be CLOSED Mon. (2/10) to students and employees with the exception of admin. and DSO staff who will still report to work.

KOREA UPDATE: Due to weather conditions today, Friday 12/13, NO school for students at Casey E/MS however, all school employees will still report to work on a two-hour delay. Also, no buses will run between Area I and Seoul American HS today.

KANTO TYPHOON UPDATE: NAF-Atsugi, Yokota AB and Yokosuka, are now at TCCOR 1R and Camp Zama is "All Clear." 


All DoDEA schools in the Kanto Plain complex will remain closed Wed. (10/16), and after-school activities are cancelled.


In TCCOR-1R, only recovery crews with Mission Essential Passes are outside, clearing roads of debris and live power lines to make it safe for others to return to work and check their facilities. 


Once the "All Clear" is given, all administrator's and ISSs will report to work. Please contact your principal/supervisor directly for guidance. 


FINAL KANTO TYPHOON UPDATE: NAF-Atsugi, Yokota AB, Yokosuka, and Camp Zama have received the "All Clear." 


All DoDEA schools in the Kanto Plain complex will remain closed Wed. (10/16), and after-school activities are cancelled.


All administrator's and ISSs will report to work. Please contact your principal/supervisor directly for guidance.

KANTO TYPHOON UPDATE: TCCOR 1E has been issued for Yokosuka Naval Base. All other installations in the Kanto Plain w/ DoDEA Pacific schools remain in TCCOR 1. 


There are observations of sustained winds in excess of 50 knots.


Schools located at NAF-Atsugi, Yokota AB, Yokosuka, and Camp Zama will be closed Wed. Oct. 16.

TYPHOON ROKE UPDATE: 2 hour delayed start for Yokota AB, Camp Zama and NAF Atsugi school students and employees today (9/22). Schools will open as follows:

• Yokota MS & HS: 10:00

• Mendel ES: 10:00

• Yokota West ES: 09:55

• Arnn ES: 10:00

• Zama American MS: 09:30

• Zama American HS: 09:30

• Lanham ES 9:55

Buses will run on a two delay as well. Look at the time on the bus pass and add two hours. For example, if the usual pickup time is 07:35, then the bus will pickup at 09:35 instead. This is a delayed start only—dismissal times remain the same.

TYPHOON ROKE UPDATE: 2 hour delayed start for Yokota AB and Camp Zama school students and employees tomorrow (9/22). Schools will open as follows: 

• Yokota MS & HS: 10:00

• Mendel ES: 10:00

• Yokota West ES: 09:55

• Arnn ES: 10:00

• Zama American MS: 09:30

• Zama American HS: 09:30

Buses will run on a two delay as well. Look at the time on the bus pass and add two hours. For example, if the usual pickup time is 07:35, then the bus will pickup at 09:35 instead. Reports of downed trees and power lines so give base crews time to clean up and STAY SAFE!

• Yokota MS and Yokota HS: 10:55

Buses will run on a normal half-day schedule as well. Please contact your child's school for more information. 

All other DoDEA Pacific schools and offices are open and operating on a normal schedule.
