Music on the Mall Summer Concert Series
at the Independence Visitor Center

WHERE: The lawn of the Independence Visitor Center (Market Street between 5th & 6th Streets)
WHAT: Third of the 2009 “Music on the Mall” Summer Concert Series, produced by the Independence Visitor Center and sponsored by Where Philadelphia. This week the Independence Visitor Center spotlights World Music with the “Paprika”, an all-girl dance band with Brazilian influences, and “Casplash”, a Caribbean band, combining the sounds of the steel-pan with tropical rhythms - guaranteed to start a dance party right on The Mall! Music on the Mall will be held on the first Thursday of every month throughout the summer. The series is FREE to the public.
WHEN: Thursday, August 6, 2009 (6 p.m. – 8 p.m.)
WHY: To experience the sounds of diverse live music genres such as Jazz, Reggae, Blues, Soft Rock, Classic American, R & B, Oldies, and Motown; while enjoying the beauty of America’s most historic square mile – including the Liberty Bell, Independence Hall, National Constitution Center, and Independence National Historical Park. The “Music on the Mall” Summer Concerts will allow families to spend a few hours together, enjoy the summer weather, and take in the beautiful sights and sounds!
Music on the Mall is just one of the many FREE and exciting events taking place at the Independence Visitor Center this summer.
