Hurricane Warnings, Kenny Chesney's August 28 Foxboro Show Rescheduled to Friday, August 26

 Due to the US National Hurricane Center's forecast that hurricane-level storms may occur in New England on Sunday, August 28, local officials, promoters, Kenny Chesney, and his team have decided for safety reasons to push Chesney's Sunday, August 28 concert at Foxboro's Gillette Stadium to Friday, August 26.

 

"Our first and foremost priority is the fans' safety," said promoter Louis Messina of TMG/AEG Live, "so we have made the difficult decision to reschedule the show."  All tickets for Sunday's show will be honored on the new date, and the line-up and set-times will remain the same.  There will be no show on Sunday, August 28th.

 

"I want the last weekend of the 'Goin' Coastal' Tour to be a great experience for everybody. But I also want it to be the safest experience for everyone," said Chesney.  "I've always said Foxboro is a highlight of our tour, because the fans are ready for a great night of music and fun no matter what night it is!"

 

For fans who are not able to make Friday's show, refunds will be offered at point of purchase.

      ‎1. people should not be angy at anyone. this was not an easy decision but you all are getting either refunded or a show and NOT cancelled. 2. consider safety first. if you have never been in a hurricane or near one then thank your stars. 3.... finally at the end of the day all that matters is people are safe, no lives lost and you can still enjoy a show or get your $$$ back. it is not the end of the world. there will be other shows look at it that way.See More

    • Melissa Desforges L'Etoile Just called Ticket Master it is not even in their system yet she said call back tomorrow and hopefully they will have the info, and FYI it looks like if you bought a block of tickets like me 10 and 5 people cannot go you cannot get a refund on just those tickets!! Not happy about that!! Short notice for people is hard to reschedule so you should be able to get a refund on the tickets you are not using!

First he is thinking of the fans, second concert is better on Friday..Kenny does not play a 45 min concert he plays HOURS..so Friday night concert most people do not have to get up and go to work the next day...PEOPLE! I can't head to the show because of Irene and am disappointed that nothing has been done for those of us that live far away and can no longer make it. I have seen Kenny many, many times in concert, and this is the first time I am disappointed.

      It's not Kenny's fault that refunds were being denied..... Also, because of contracts he is basically obligated to play and there are few exceptions to this.. Even though he's the "star" he actually has very little control over stuff like t...his... I'm shocked though that the people in charge at the place he was playing in Foxboro allowed Saturday's show to go on... I know they want to make money. But, considering this is the biggest storm the upper east coast has seen in years you would think they would ask him to come back next week or at another safer time....Rather then put people in this situation.. I hope they do something for all the people that couldn't make it... Sorry to hear you missed out on a KC concert, hope none of your houses were destroyed or anything like that :-)See More

I went to a concert last night of a grammy/CMT award winning group and I must say they sounded amazing but def could use the skills of someone like Abbey to co-ordinate the videography...it was horrible.
