Living Faith Daily: Loving your neighbors as yourself
Loving your neighbors as yourself
But because he wished to justify himself, he said to Jesus, "And who is my neighbor?"
-Luke 10:29
I feel helpless when I learn about catastrophes and wars and grinding poverty. How can I love all my neighbors as myself? Who is my neighbor, anyway? Jesus spoke to this question by telling the story of the good Samaritan. The Samaratin didn't help the whole world- that was Jesus' job. The Samaritan did what he could for the one needy person he encountered. If we all followed his example, the world would be transformed.
