Pocket Princess FAQ
THE POCKET PRINCESS FAQ
I get a lot of notes & questions here and on Tumblr but of course not everyone is always reading when I answer them, so here it is!
Q: Can I buy PP as prints/books/tshirts/
A: I'm sorry, but no. PP is free fan entertainment only. Disney own the copyright on these characters and I cannot legally profit from it (no, seriously, I CAN'T. I know this for a hard fact). I work for Disney in various capacities & they know where to find me if they're interested. Until then, PP remains free fanart. If you see PP for sale on ebay/etsy etc, that person is not me and what they're doing is illegal. The official (ALWAYS FREE!) posting locations for Pocket Princesses are this page and my tumblr feed (amymebberson.tumblr.com)
Q: You should do Pocket Princes/Villains/Avengers etc!
A: Thank you, but I have a VERY busy career as a cartoonist/illustrator/fine artist. Just finding the time to do THIS strip is tough sometimes amid the deadlines, but I always try. If I don't have time, I'm busy doing stuff that pays the bills!
Q: PLEASE COULD YOU PUT *insert name here* IN?!
A: Sorry, no. I am very protective of keeping PP all my own work. I'm a Disney geek, I know and love all the characters. I'll decide if any particular character should guest star in my own time and more importantly, if I think of a good joke! I have to be firm on this: PP is not open to suggestions or requests of any kind for intellectual property reasons. It's absolutely nothing personal, promise.
Q: Can I have a hi-res copy of a strip to make my own print?
A: Sorry, no. See aforementioned 'protective' streak.
Q: IT'S FRIDAY WHERE"S THE STRIP?!
A: Like I said, soooooo buuuuusssyyyyyyy.... I am acutely aware that people wait for PP every Friday and I feel bad but sometimes I just can't get one ready in time, due to travel, holidays or sheer deadline crunch. More often than not, there will just be a day or two delay, but if I absolutely HAVE to skip a week, I always post a note letting everyone know.
Q: What do you use to make PP?
A: PP is done entirely in Photoshop with a Cintiq monitor. A couple in the collection are done by hand, but that's a rare occurrence.
Q: Can I commission something from you?
A: I HATE turning down people for commissions, but again, I am simply too full up with my comic & art work to have time for private commissions. I am also an official Disney artist with Acme Archives, so any original Disney art I produce is under license with them and Disney.
If you have a question you don't see here, PLEASE ask in the timeline or drop me a note! Thank you to everyone who takes the time to tell me they enjoy my art. I read every note and appreciate the encouragement :)
