Friends and Supporters of Freddie Lempe

Freddie needs your HELP!  We knew Freddie had a hard fight for recovery, but we never expected that he would have to fight WakeMed for his Life.

The next hearing will be (CANCELLED DUE TO RULING), on the 12th Floor of the Wake County Court House, WakeMed will be attempting to take guardianship over Freddie Lempe from his father.

This is the same WakeMed that has stopped treating Freddie in a way that stimulates and encourages Freddie to reach his full status in every area of recovery. WakeMed’s decision to stop treating Freddie with standard healthcare resources that have proven to help him make progress through this last year and a half may very well be what causes Freddie to die.

We come to you today seeking your support to stand with us against the mighty WakeMed system demanding that they stop this attempt of acquiring guardianship of Freddie Lempe. We insist that the doctors abide by the oath that they took when they accepted the status of being a doctor.

This is the last paragraph in the doctors’ oath states: “If I do not violate this oath, may I enjoy life and art, be respected while I live and remembered with affection thereafter. May I always act so as to preserve the finest traditions of my calling and may I long experience the joy of healing those who seek my help.”

We have seen Freddie at his lowest when in PICU when All the doctors, except for the Director of Pediatric Hospital himself and one other very aggressive pediatric doctor, have chosen not to treat Freddie and as a result Freddie lost much of his strength and ability to function. Freddie was like a dish rag, not able to lay straight in bed. He was unable to breathe properly, d-sating often and for long hours. The WakeMed Pediatric Director invited the WakeMed Director of Trauma to observe Freddie. After a change in the treatment of Freddie per this doctor’s recommendation, which included frequent bronch-washes, Freddie regained his strength and ability to breathe on his own without ventilator support for as much as 19 hours per day.

Freddie has repeatedly shown the ability to respond to verbal requests by his dad, myself and other friends and medical staff at Wake Med.

He moves both arms, fingers, legs and feet upon verbal request.

He will turn his head and follow you as you move around the room.

He will cough on his own and make various sounds and appears to want to talk.

He blinks his eyes in response to questions.

He has shown positive and happy attitudes as well as moments of sadness which display his ability to think and reason on his own.

It is sad when doctors, who have taken an oath to treat people medically choose not to do so. The WakeMed doctors have chosen to stabilize Freddie, rather than stimulate him. We have seen success many times when he is stimulated.

A note from Freddie’s dad:  I want to say that I have prayed and ask our wonderful Lord to guide me in every step to Freddie’s recovery. Having said that; I have done everything humanly possible to keep the public side of this tragic situation as positive as I could through the past 15 months.  But since WakeMed has refused to stimulate Freddie in every way possible for his health and wellbeing then I am left with no other choice than to let the public know the truth of the matter. Since WakeMed and their own employed Social Workers and the Department of Social Services in both Wake and Johnston Counties have blocked the applications that have been submitted, which were filed per DSS instructions, I am left with no other choice than to let the truth be known. These are the same applications that were approved numerous times previously. I am also being investigated by the Wake County Adult Protection Services, all in an attempt to take over the guardianship of my son for the benefit of WakeMed’s interest. My concerns are that WakeMed is willing to let my son lie there with no desire for restoration, that their willingness to allow my son to waste away until a virus infection is contracted by him. My question to the doctors is what happened to the oath that You professed prior to becoming a doctor? Do you no longer long to experience the joy of healing those who seek your help? Was your oath a lie? I am, from this moment on, disclosing the unfiltered truths as to what and how WakeMed is neglecting Freddie’s care at   I invite and encourage you to go to the site and click the like tab and follow the feed of the daily postings of Freddie’s care or in some cases, the lack of care  Thank you for your support for my son, Freddie,

Fred Lempe

If you want to help Freddie and feel that this continuous attack by all the above mentioned parties is not only wrong, but needs to stop.  Please sign this petition and forward it to your friends to do the same. We need to make a statement that cannot only be heard, but will open the eyes of all parties and change their ways and attempts to hinder Freddie's ability for recovery.

Please forward the entire petition to

Ephesians 6

10 Finally, be strong in the Lord and in his mighty power. 11 Put on the full armor of God, so that you can take your stand against the devil’s schemes. 12 For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms.

Thank you,
