what a beautiful day today..

we went out to Whiskeytown.. BEAUTIFUL mountains, a HUGE lake (complete with geese and kids who wanna kill em’) cool rocks with ice cold water streaming down while the sun hovers over us gently..

we went there armed with guitars, towels, snacks (oh yeah.. we’ve been eating alot.. which is an american thing to do.. =P) explored the rocks with hannah and erin.. jamming with the girls, learning scales with our new friend, samantha, tanned with the girls, laughed so hard when my funky housemate, Kiersten did her Stitch impersonation (she is SO good) and played frisbee for a while at the carpark..

On our way back home, we spotted a double rainbow!!! SO pretty.. I wish i could experience the beauty of mountains, lakes and skies like we do here everyday.. the thought of going home makes me sad, but I need to remember that we’re here for a reason, for a season, and not to entertain ourselves. But that thought ain’t stopping us from having a ton of fun along the way…

We had a very very good time at Fri nite service yesterday. the message spoke tons to me. A few things I really liked were “God did not give us our imagination to let the devil use it.” she was referring to our fear of the future.. When we think bad thoughts, when we fear, we are allowing the devil to use a God-given and sacred part of us. Wow. What a cool revelation. And after service, we stayed for a night prayer meeting. It was AWESOME just seeing hungry hearts empty themselves before the Lord. Now I understand why Bethel is making such a huge impact in their town and in the world. It’s Prayer. There was no sign of the “big boys and girls” ie: Bill and Benie Johnson (senior pastors), Kris and Kathy Valloton etc.. It was just made up of normal people, normal lay people crying out to God for their leaders, friends, for God. It was amazing.. God just kinda reminded me of some stuff that made me bawl.. and then i fell asleep on the bench which was kinda embarrassing. =P Oh well, best place for rest is in God’s presence!

Anyway, I gotta run.. Kiersten did Mac n Cheese and we’re bringin it over to the boys’!! YAY ! till soon!
