Resounding Joy, Inc.: What is a Joy Giver?

What is a Joy Giver?

Joy Givers are Resounding Joy-trained volunteers who creatively share with others the words of hope, encouragement, and consolation through music.

Resounding Joy provides all the necessary group training, structured to be non-musician proof and very supportive in nature. Volunteer Joy Givers need not be musicians to participate in this creative outreach program. Neither the ability to read written music nor play a musical instrument is a requirement.

Joy Givers are . . .
. at least 16 years of age
. good listeners
. comfortable spending time with people
. eager to share comfort and joy through music
. able to attend and complete 12 hours of local introductory training
. able to attend 2 hours/month on-going supervised training
. able to be a Joy Giver for 4 hours/month for at least one year

Once trained, volunteer Joy Givers share music with adult and child Joy Receivers in one-on-one settings or in group environments.
