Our new Science and Operations Officer
Greetings! My name is Todd Foisy and I am the new Science and Operations Officer (SOO) at the Caribou office as of this November. The "SOO" is a member of the management team along with the Meteorologist-in-Charge (MIC) and the Warning Coordination Meteorologist (WCM). The SOO is the scientific leader of the staff at a forecast office. Some of my main duties include the training and development of the staff, and incorporating research into operations to improve our products and services.
I moved to Caribou from Anchorage, Alaska, with my wife Jenevra, nine month old daughter Zola, and our three cats and a dog. As you might have guessed by our choice of places of residence, my wife and I both love snow! Winter weather has always been my passion, so Caribou is a perfect fit! Caribou actually averages 45" more snowfall than Anchorage. I look forward to exploring "The County's" endless cross country ski trails as well as the area's several downhill ski areas. In summer, I plan to enjoy hiking the North Woods and picking berries.
