KUDOS!!!! I've gotta say the first step in ending hate is to lift the ban on religious and parental accountability.
HATE IS LEARNED. As an adopted child it has been bizarre for me to see the kind of rigorous testing and checking up and LEGAL involvement in my parents lives that the state mandates to assure an adopt...ed child a safe and secure environment. Where is the concern and care and STANDARDS for non adopted children? You need a license to have a DOG, but no one says anything when 'good christians' indoctrinate their children into BRONZE AGE DOGMAS of Bigotry, Misogyny, and homophobia. HOLD THOSE ACCOUNTABLE WHO HAVE INSPIRED IN OUR PRECIOUS YOUTH THIS PENCHANT FOR INTOLERANCE!!!! BLAME THE PARENTS AND THE CHURCH. They are the cause and it is patently OBVIOUS. No one gets a free pass, least of all when it comes to the emotional, social, and psychological safety and wellness of our YOUTH.

I like this story (and accompanying photo) because it shows the power of leadership. Once one person stands up, it makes it easier for another person to stand up. And those two people make it easier/safer for more people to come together. Each person who joins in is a leader, regardless of when they join in, because th...ey're the ones who make it possible for the next person to stand up for justice.
