Colin Whitfield

Colin Whitfield KUDOS!!!! I've gotta say the first step in ending hate is to lift the ban on religious and parental accountability.

HATE IS LEARNED. As an adopted child it has been bizarre for me to see the kind of rigorous testing and checking up and LEGAL involvement in my parents lives that the state mandates to assure an adopt...ed child a safe and secure environment. Where is the concern and care and STANDARDS for non adopted children? You need a license to have a DOG, but no one says anything when 'good christians' indoctrinate their children into BRONZE AGE DOGMAS of Bigotry, Misogyny, and homophobia. HOLD THOSE ACCOUNTABLE WHO HAVE INSPIRED IN OUR PRECIOUS YOUTH THIS PENCHANT FOR INTOLERANCE!!!! BLAME THE PARENTS AND THE CHURCH. They are the cause and it is patently OBVIOUS. No one gets a free pass, least of all when it comes to the emotional, social, and psychological safety and wellness of our YOUTH.

It was 16 years ago that a Jewish family had a brick thrown through their window during the holidays. The Billings community stood behind them by hanging paper menorahs in their windows and declaring "Not in Our Town".

Rhian Miller

Rhian Miller Jim,
I LOVE this Corduroy is a Sin" Story. Thank you for drawing our attention to this great story. What a wonderful- ie humorous- way, to stand up against a hateful message. and the fact that so many others wanted to "stand by him" shows again how a very simple act can have a wide ranging effect

Jim I like this story (and accompanying photo) because it shows the power of leadership. Once one person stands up, it makes it easier for another person to stand up. And those two people make it easier/safer for more people to come together. Each person who joins in is a leader, regardless of when they join in, because th...ey're the ones who make it possible for the next person to stand up for justice.

Dennis will keep you all posted on this event, a promotions company out of Philly is helping with logistics and performers. So far is is looking like it may be turning into a 2010 mini peace and justice woodstock. You all are welcome to come help us celebrate if your available. The fight marches on.

The concept took shape about two years ago. We currently have 12 performers who have signed on to help us. Baby J a 17 year old hip hop artist has signed on. He did a cover of Peter Yarro's "Don't laugh at me" which is great.
The promoters are working with the City of Philadelphia to use a park that has over 2000 acres of land.

We met last night and are thinking of making this a two day unity event..musicians, non profits with tables, educational workshops..lots of information sharing, and most of all TONS of FUN.

Several local bands are working on developing smaller fundraising events prior to the Musicians Against Hate event. One local pub is willing to donate free space, and three local bands will play (who have a good following).

More as things develop.

Turn the tide on the religious figures and their bible - who are calling for mass hated and domestic terrorism towards the President of the United States.

Name:1 John 4:20:If a man say, I love God, and hateth his brother, he is a liar: for ...he that loveth not his brother whom he hath seen, how can he love God whom he hath not seen?
