9th Ray on the Philippine Flag is NOT the answer
We, the sovereign Filipino people, believe that the addition of the 9th Ray on our National Flag is NOT the answer “to acknowledge the courage, bravery and integrity of Muslim Filipinos who fought for the nation’s independence.”

9th Ray on the Philippine Flag is NOT the answer

Freddy Romano

Freddy Romano Here's a joke....
There were reporters interviewing Mr. Gordon. One asked,
REPORTER: Mr. Gordon, what are your proposed solutions to the current problems in Mindanao like poverty, lack of services and infrastructure, breakdown of law and order and corruption?
GORDON: Simple, I will add a 9th ray on our glorious and historic flag.

9th Ray on the Philippine Flag is NOT the answer says Senator Dick Gordon has already been silent on this issue. I wonder why...

If the motive of adding another ray is merely to appease the Muslim
Filipinos, then this proposal is misdirected or does not make sense. The
Bangsamoro population needs more than mere representation in the national
symbol. The e...xtreme wants not to be part of the Republic and on the other side
there are those that want to be part of the Republic.

The government and the Filipino people must squarely address the root causes
of the Muslim rebellions, a tangible one, not by merely appeasing them by adding
another ray in the flag.
Let's be serious about this national challenge. Let's not muck around with
simple solution for this gargantuan national challenge by merely adding another
ray in th sun.

You, the lawmakers, have very short-sighted focus in nation
building, so much so you also lack the wisdom to lead this country.
Let's stop tampering with the national symbol and squarely face the problem
in Mindanao that will attain peace and prosperity for all."

Tom "The eight primary rays of the sun represent the eight provinces which declared themselves in a state of war as soon as the first revolt was initiated (Manila, Cavite, Bulacan, Pampanga, Nueva Ecija, Bataan, Laguna, and Batangas) that sought independence from Spain and were placed under martial law by the Spaniards at ...the start of the Philippine Revolution in 1896."
