The competition is only for the rich people who can actually afford it. Good for the NSPCC but not poor people who cannot enter. GOD BLESS YOU ALL. I hope the NSPCC get a lot of money for the children.

This week the Child Exploitation and Online Protection (CEOP) Centre released a new film aimed at anyone close to the person who was involved in the disappearance of Madeleine McCann.

In order to reach that person, CEOP are asking for the public’s help to share this message virally, via the internet, so that the message... is so widespread it becomes one click away to the person who knows something about Madeleine’s disappearance.

You can view the full message which is part of a short film at http://www.ceop.police.uk/

If you are online and part of an online community, you can help by:
- Posting the link on your social networking site
- Emailing your friends and colleagues and encouraging them to share the film
- Blogging and/or Tweeting about the film

thought that the Guernsey community was a very close knit community...hope they can get together on this one and see it through. The NSPCC have a greater responsibility in the more remote areas of the Isles.

Hi Lisa

Thanks for getting in touch. It is correct that following a review of all its activities, the NSPCC is proposing to close its service in the Bailiwick of Guernsey. Such a move is never easy to make and it’s one that has hasn’t been put forward lightly and without very careful deliberation.

Our new strategy recognises an inescapable fact – that we cannot deliver all that is needed to keep children safe in the UK and Channel Islands. It is important therefore that we ensure we focus our resources to reach as many children and young people as possible if we are to maximise the impact we have in ending cruelty to children. ... Even though we have reached the conclusion that we are no longer able to provide a physical presence in the Bailiwick, we are actively exploring whether services can continue to be provided by another agency to ensure continuity.

We'd like to reassure that we remain committed to protecting children in the Bailiwick and our work will continue there, even though there is not an actual building or team based in Guernsey.

We intend to develop a number of services which children and adults across the UK and Channel Islands can access. These include the expansion of our helplines – ChildLine for children and our NSPCC Helpline for any adult concerned about a child, both to include new on-line and text services - our work in schools and a substantially increased training for professionals to help share our knowledge and experience with others working with children.

Thanks,
