The New York State Senate voted down a bill today that would've legalized same-sex marriage. Not a single Republican Senator voted for the bill,
which was defeated 38-24. The bill, which was lobbied for by Gov. David
Patterson, is now effectively dead until the 2010 elections. New York would've been the sixth state in the nation to legalize same-sex marriage

The outcome for the vote on Wednesday remains uncertain, since Democrats will need some support from Republicans.

The New York Young Republican Club The New York Daily News is reporting that Rudy Guiliani will run against Democrat Kirsten Gillibrand for U.S. Senate in 2010. He will use it as a stepping stone to the Presidency. Guiliani campaign is denying the report. If true...it would interesting to see if Former NY Governor George Pataki still decides to run. ... Marist Poll released today has the race as follows: Guiliani 54 Gillibrand 40.
