not just Enviroschools either - they're pulling funding for the fruit in schools program too, which ensures that low-decile school kids get at least one piece of fresh fruit each school day. And yet they've just sent out full-colour glossy-papered National Standards consultation packs to every single teacher. Shameful prioritisation of funds, in my opinion. But not exactly surprising.

If you haven't seen the drivel spouted by Key in September 2007 to an Enviroschools Jam, see here. It is telling that he says on more than one occasion that NZ's clean and green IMAGE is important. He thinks living sustainably and being conservative in our use of resources is an image to be up kept. A facade if you will. That must be where I have been going wrong all these years!

Good to see the sustainable biofuel one there! If common sencs prevails it should get passed quickly - the same way the sustainable amendment to the Biofuel Act (since repealed) last year did.

Good stuff! would hate to see New Zealand helping to kill bio-diversity or stave other nations so the general population here can sit in the drive through of the local fast food.

Key seems to mention the economic gains from the new insulation programme only in terms of creating jobs in the insulation and related industries. Doesn't he also realize that helping kiwis save on their energy bills is, in effect, another form of tax cut? Perhaps the Greens could point that out

Steve Joyce and his cronies are a lot of arrogant, smug so-and-so's who seem hell-bent on destroying much of the good achieved by the Greens and Labour. It's a crying shame.
