Oborona (Оборона, "Defense" in Russian) is a non-partisan youth democratic movement in Russia.The movement was established in 2005 and has no leader or centralized structure. Instead, it is based on the network principle and mostly horizontal relations.
Mission:
Oborona demands democratic political reform in Russia and opposes Putin and Medvedev who try to bring the country back to dictatorship. The movement espouses nonviolent resistance and civic disobedience to the authorities.
