In Memory of Sushi

Sushi, beloved office companion and champion Betta, passed peacefully on Monday, October 19, 2009. Sushi spent his days standing watch over the art and interactive departments, where in his spare time he also enjoyed swimming in and out of a ceramic volcano. He was a resilient fish who overcame many t...rials, dirty tanks and three-day weekends. Sometimes overfed, but never overlooked, Sushi was a bright spot in a dark corner of the office. Once an appropriate time of mourning has passed, then, and only then, will we determine if his legacy will continue with the addition of Sushi II.

Left to cherish the beloved memory of Sushi are his caretakers Deanna Reis and Billy Foglia. Billy nurtured Sushi with food and love each morning, while Deanna kept his tank tidy with weekly water changes and tank cleanings. In addition to Deanna and Billy, Sushi also leaves behind 25 human siblings, 9 brothers and 16 sisters.

All who knew and loved him are comfortably sure he passed his Betta testing and has moved peacefully onto larger seas.

Coming off a disappointing 2008 tournament in which OEA netted only ONE victory - expectations were low heading into the 2009 Wheeler Dodgeball Benefit event. But with renewed hope brought on by fresh faces and the presence of team mascot Jeff Doy, OEA went on to place third in the SILVER division - despite losing star... pelter, Price Harmon to a season ending achilles injury. Recruiting has begun for the 2010 campaign.Read More
