SG1 and SGA had their own feel. Personally, I like the new way SGU is going. Take a rag-tag group of people who are all wrong for this mission, and throw them into a situation where they are wondering if they're even going to survive the week, let alone get back home. Makes for a powerful story, though with less action.

I don't think they're going... See More with a soap-opera feel. They're going with a realistic feel. The characters are realistic and believable. They aren't action heroes, or anything like that. They're regular people, forced into the role of explorers.

*cheers* Thank you! Someone else understands! I just went for a walk and was thinking, SG:U is about people. It's not a comic book. I love a blend of storytelling, and SG:U has plenty of action. It's about evenly balanced between Military problem solving (Tamara and the Sand Entity, for example), personal plot, and straight Action (getting the shuttle back aboard Destiny.) Wicked show. So happy to have it around.

As it is right now I won't be purchasing the next year from iTunes store, I'll just watch the SG1 and Atlantis series again.

First, Doctor Rush is a PIG! Second, Lt. Scott banging away in the broom closets is kind of funny because he never gets to finish. Third, I like Eli. He's smart and funny. Fourth, Doctor Rush is a pig. Fifth, I'm really starting to get confused and unable to keep track of who is switching bodies with who. Sixth, Poor General O'Neil has gaind ... See Moreweight. With all shows it takes a while to establish Charecters, getting used to the premis of the show. It's still all being set up. I'm sure it's going to get better. They have too many good writers for it not to. Yet I still think that talking about it like this is a good idea so the writers and producers hear what we all think about the show.

I have tried to like this show but after tonights episode I've given up. I'll just wait for the Atlantis movie to come out for my next fix of stargate.

yeah a soap, I don't want the drama I want more episode 8. I hope they don't cancel it I hope they improve it. The problem with it though is the fact it's supposed to be a space drama. Only reason I watch it is because it's stargate.

To the person who was wondering what the season finale was going to be....well according to the write-ups on TV.com they discover a spy in their midst on the ship who is actually a member of the Lucian Alliance (who had its spotlight in season 9-10 of SG1 and were crippled by the Ori fleet in battle at the supergate). Lame twist if you ask me...

It's not about sci-fi neededing space battles or "we need more cool looking alien enemies". It's the fact that this show carries the name of Stargate, yet seems to fail to use an actual Stargate in most of the stories. A slow buildup can be a good thing yes....but not when it was packaged with trailers that made it seem like it was going to carry... See More out the previous series level of action and intensity.

They lied on the packaging...and while this is great storytelling (and i watch it every week because I like it) it's still not what was promised to us when they sold it to us.

In original BSG, Starbuck was a guy...why did it have to be a gal. I like things to be close to original...I like the Star Trek Movie that came out during the summer. It was edgy but was still a good flick.
