Think osteoporosis is a disease for women only to be concerned about? Wrong. Although women are four times more likely than men to suffer from osteoporosis, the National Osteoporosis Foundation estimates that two million American men also have the disease, with as many as three million more poised to develop it. Dr. Or...woll will discuss his research into the unique causes and effects of osteoporosis in men. Dr. Orwoll is Professor of Medicine in the Bone and Mineral Section of the Division of Endocrinology, Diabetes, Clinical Nutrition in the OHSU School of Medicine. He also directs the Oregon Clinical and Translational Research Institute, and is Associate Dean for Clinical Research, Assistant Vice President for Research.
