Dark & dreamy photography from Croatia. Awesome stuff.

This morning I was perusing Etsy and I came across some interesting illustrations by Retro Whale. There are some cool prints, cards and t-shirts in their Etsy shop.

Retro Whale describes their work as “inspired by everything but especially 70’s and 80’s design, rap lyrics, animals, and oddities.”

Anna Bond is an illustrator & designer recently transplanted to Orlando, Florida. She had been the art director at a major media company where she oversaw creative direction for a major women’s magazine. She has since started her own design & paper goods shop called Rifle Paper Co. I love the hand generated & painterly aesthetic she carries through all of her work. I really like her music posters the most, but she seems to focusing on wedding goods with Rifle. Probably easier to make a living that way…

I love this animated short from Malcolm Sutherland. There’s such beautiful interplay between the soundtrack & the animation, which is one my favorite aspects of film. I found the piece through an animation group on Vimeo, and I soon fell in love with all of Malcolm’s work. Check out this very different but also mesmerizing short titled ‘The Tourists.’

Nepomuk is an illustration & design collective based in Berlin. I found the collective while browsing through Doris Freigofas’s awesome illustrations on her Flickr page. The collective produces really fun work loaded with personality. Check out their site & if you’re liking it, buy a print or a t-shirt in their shop.
