Michelle Blair I have a 9yr son who currently is in public school but I am considering going back to homeschooling. I am not familar with homeschooling in oklahoma and any suggestions would be great and helpful. He just recently got diagnosed with CAPD (central auditory processing disorder) and though he gets great grades he is const...antly in trouble. Noises ( others whispering, low humming of the air conditioning, computers, refridgerators ect...) makes it hard for him to concentrate or even sit still. The louder it is the worse he gets. He displays adhd LIKE behaviors due to this. Needless to say to satisfy the school we are getting him tested for adhd but by someone who is familar with this contition. However for the school it seems not soon enough and they want him treated for adhd (medication has been mentioned more than a few times).

Elizabeth Ellena Austin

Elizabeth Ellena Austin I have a teenage boy that currently attends public school. He's started an acting career and it is apparent that we may have to begin homeschooling soon. From what I've heard from a friend that homeschools - he said it's the best decision he'd ever made for his son. I've always been interested in homeschooling, but ...didn't think I was smart enough to walk my son through it. Any suggestions on getting started or folks in Edmond that could give direction? My hopes are to finish off this semester if we can and then begin homeschooling in Jan. 2010. Would appreciate any help or advice.
