Olsen Creative Isn't THIS a little too Apple-y?

The mission of the Washington Apple Commission is to protect, promote and make our industry grow by enhancing and increasing the value of Washington apples for growers and consumers.

Yes, a bit to Apple-y. The county we live in is 2nd in the nation in apple production (2nd behind Washington State), and we have logos very similar to this one.

When it comes to defending their trademarks and logos, no company is more fervent than Apple. If they could challenge Victoria School of Business and Technology

Icon development - from the last round, the square shape was a keeper, but it needed to make a stronger statement. The Italic monogram was a bit too ornate, although the forward-pointing italic had merit. The classic look of the other options was also good. Here's an example of the "best of" the first group combined in...to the icon.

(Personally, I'm liking the yin-yang thing happening with the gray area, and that it also reminds me of the scale balance image that a lot of attorneys use. This is evocative without being an obvious or trite image.)

It is terrific to have such good choices! As you know on first impact I really liked this one...I think the think that is lingering and bugging me just a bit is that for some reason it reminds me of the overused "pillars of justice" motiff that lots of lawyers have....does that make any sense? Though stripped down to black/white/grayscale here, it does look kinda cool...

Olsen Creative D Jill Pugh's logo - Which is the right one? It depends on how Jill wants to position herself. Does she want something that potential clients can identify with, something that looks like it fits her personally, or something that associates her with her peers? ~ If you were having a logo designed, what would your top priority be?

No, no Techies, specially techy lawyers don't like professional. They go more for graphic, clean lines, etc.

Client feedback: we don't have a winner - yet. There are pieces of each that work and some that don't. Another thing the logo has to do is stand up to opposing counsel or a company being sued. "Friendly" is good for clients, but may not send the best message to the opponent. Look for a stronger logo candidate next week!
