Miaad what happens if you have an admisson test booked and the colleges go on strike? will we be able to do the admisson test or will we have to wait?

Hi Miaad,
That's a 'wait and see' question. There may not even be a strike and if there is, services will probably vary college by college.

DJ Gardner On Feb 1st, if i dont recieve an offer from any of the colleges, does that mean i've been denied admission or can i still be offered a seat up till the progrma start date? Also, will i be notified if ive been accepted or denied in the form of a letter, or will it be only posted on ontariocolleges.ca?

HI DJ,
The earliest date that colleges will release offers of admission is Feb 1. The colleges continue to send out offers of admission until the program is filled - sometimes weeks after Feb 1.

Depending upon the college, they may send you snail mail and/or an email, but definitely all offers of admission will eventually be posted on ontariocolleges.ca.

Please note that Feb 1 is the day with heaviest website volumes. Although you might be very anxious to see if you've received an offer, you will have weeks after Feb 1 to confirm your acceptance.

Good luck!

Arunima Hi! I want to join a program which is waitlisted. Can you tell how can I apply for it?

You can apply for a waitlisted program in the same way as you would for any open program.

Remember however, that a waitlisted program already has more qualified applicants than there are seats in the program.

You may wish to contact the college directly and see how many applicants have alreaady been placed on the waitlist, before you apply.

Thanks for replying.
In the apply option the waitlisted program is not coming.. it is there in the wishlist but I am unable to select it while choosing the preference.

Hi Kevin,
We'll have a look at this when we're officially back on Jan 4. In the meantime, a form has been emailed to your inbox.

Hi Kevin,
We have just checked this part of the application. If you select 'other method of payment' and then 'certified cheque' and click 'print form' the screen information will be printed. That's OK - just include that print out with your cheque. It might be a bit misleading where you are thinking that there is an actual 'form' to fill out. Hope this helps.

Jd Singh hi. i have applied to 4 colleges and just want to know when offers go out? do they randomly get sent out or is there like a start date on offers getting sent out?

The first date that offers will be released by the colleges is February 1, 2010. Your offers will be posted to your online application. Please note that Feb 1 is the equal consideration date and typically website volumes are very high. You have several weeks to review and accept your offer of admission.

Brandon Last year I applied to college (for a Sept. 2009 start) and had mailed a copy of my high school transcript to OCAS. However, I ended up not going to college. I am once again applying for a Sept. 2010 start. Do I need to mail OCAS another copy of my high school transcript ? (my high school education has not changed since I mailed out the transcript over a year ago)

Alisha So I'm trying to find figure out if my online course I took through Algonquin College is a transcript you won't accept by mail. The thing I got from the school just says 'term grade report'... but the course I'm now applying for is at Algonquin so when i go to 'request a transcript' i can't have the source (algonquin) ...and destination (also algonquin) be the same. But your site says you aren't accepting paper copies of transcripts... what do I do? Is my online course even considered a transcript?

You do not need to send transcripts to a college that you have previously attended. Algonquin should have your information already. If you haven't done so already, you should include this online course in your previous education section on your online application. Hope this helps.

If you sent your transcripts to ontariocolleges.ca (not directly to a college) your grade information is on file and will be forwarded your college choices, including if you make changes to your original college choices.

When i requested that my transcripts be sent (I am not currently in highschool), I had to choose and pay for however many colleges I applied to. In my transcript request it states the 4 specific colleges that it is to be sent to.

If you are currently in high school, your high school will send your transcripts to ontariocolleges.ca and we, in turn, will forward this information to all the colleges to which you applied.

Don't forget the the colleges are closed between Christmas and New Years, so wait the first week of January and if you have not heard from the Conestoga at that time, contact the college directly.

Hi Rina,
It takes about 5 working days to evaluate your Ontario transcripts and 7 to 10 working days to evaluate international documents (and don't forget, ontariocolleges.ca is closed during the week between Christmas and New Years). Give it another week and if you still do not see your grades posted to your online application, call the contact centre - see the info tab for phone numbers. (Note: your application processing fee must be received before your grades will be viewable)

also is "www.ontariocolleges.ca" the same as the OUAC but for colleges ? is it the official website for students to apply to college? ( like the OUAC is for universities?)

ontariocolleges.ca
Hi Salman - OUAC is the application processing centre for all publically funded ""universities" in Ontario. ontariocolleges.ca is the application processing centre for all publically funded "colleges" in Ontario. We are 2 completely different offices. You will need to fill out 2 separate applications - one for colleges and one for universities... See More.

When applying to college, there is a $95 application processing fee. For that fee you can apply up to 5 different college programs on the application. 5 is the maximum number of choices and applicants are not able to apply to any additional programs beyond 5.

Please visit www.ouac.on.ca for more information on applying to university.

Jason Kerr Hi, I am a high school graduate and I am attending Sheridan college currently and I had to apply for college for next year(Sept 2010 start). I filled out my forms and made my payment. I am a little confused however in the application I put that I would be sending my high school and college transcripts and I don't any w...ith me, so I went back and changed that after I made the payment. Did Ontario Colleges recognize that change? and If so does that mean that my high school transcript will be sent from Ontario Colleges to the Colleges I applied for?

Hi Jason - When you applied to Sheridan College for the program that you are currently enrolled in, ontariocolleges.ca forwarded all the transcripts that you provided at that time. ontariocolleges.ca does not keep transcripts on file so we would have no transcripts attached to your application for September 2010. Please contact your previous high... See More school and ask to have 1 official transcript sent to ontariocolleges.ca as soon as possible. Your high school may charge you a fee for your transcript. Once ontariocolleges.ca receives your grades, we will ensure that each of the colleges you applied to, receives the information. You will also need to order a copy of your Sheridan College transcript to go to each of the colleges you are applying to for September 2010. You can actually do that through your online application.

If you have any further questions or concerns or would like someone to check the status of your online application and the documents/transcripts attached, please contact our Customer Contact Centre anytime after January 3, 2010 as we are closed for the holidays. We will be open from 8:30am to 11:00pm starting Monday January 4, 2010. Thanks!
