Mark William Lisk

Mark William Lisk It is hard for me to stay away from the Owyhee Canyonlands on these warm fall afternoons. Times like these are fleeting, so I soak as much in as possible before the coming winter. This photograph was taken last night on the Lower Owyhee River. http://www.liskgallery.com/data/web/canyonlands/index.html

Leland Howard

Leland Howard I wasn't able to make it to the Yellowstone's Cascade Corner premiere in Pocatello but I can say this is an amazing place. As always I'm sure the Outdoor Idaho crew did a great job and am looking forward to seeing the show.

Leland Howard

Leland Howard In early autumn just before the snows hit, I hiked to this ridge for a view of the Tetons from the Idaho side and waited for sunset. Once I'm set up it's nice to just watch and wait for the decisive moment to create an image. A time of calm reflection, which I suppose is rare for most these days.

That looks good. Too bad I don't have television anymore. (Or live in Idaho for that matter.)

Leland Howard

Leland Howard There are many hidden and unnamed waterfalls in the Pioneer Mountains of central Idaho. Here the gold hue of the rocks compliment the autumn color on the cliffs. It's great to find places like this especially knowing that it's most likely never been photographed before. I hiked off trail following the canyon hoping for just this type of scene.

Take the road past Wildhorse campground (4 wheel drive only past the campground) Follow it until it ends at the washed out bridge that used to cross the gorge. From there hike down canyon along the edge. Caution advised - steep cliffs and this creek blasts down through here in the spring. Good luck.
