Why Outward Bound is brown
James Reid, 09/11/09
It's the colour of the bommy,
It's the colour of my hands,
It's the colour of the water,
And the earth on which we stand.
It's the colour of the scrogghan,
It's the colour of the trees,
It's the colour of my boots,
And the flies, and the mozzies.
Brown is the bark that we
throw into... the fire,
Also are the leafy twigs that
throw the flames up higher.
Brown are the logs that we
Sit on while we eat,
Brown is the dirt that
Moves beneath our feet.
It's the colour that means hardship,
It's the colour that means scruffy,
It's the colour that means rough,
And not so very fluffy.
It's a colour that means challenging,
And all of which surrounds.
Of strength and perseverance,
And it means Outward bound.Read More

James Reid Wow, I just got back from outward bound this morning, and I think it was awesome. I've learnt so much, about me, others and life. I wrote a poem when my group was given time to think to ourselves and had to answer questions. the question was 'If Outward Bound was a colour, what would it be?'

Stephanie Abbott  Haha i'm in the Outward Bound Australia Annual report on Page 12. Hell yeah =)
