PEARL HARBOR (Nov. 23, 2009) - The Virginia-class submarine USS Texas (SSN 775) arrived at its new home port, Naval Station Pearl Harbor, during an inner-fleet transfer from Groton Submarine Base. The arrival of Texas to Pearl Harbor will mark the second of the Virginia-class subs to be stationed in the Pacific, following the historic arrival of USS Hawaii (SSN 776) in July. Clear Horizon, an annual exercise conducted with the Republic of Korea Navy, is one of the largest, ... Vis merinternational, mine counter-measures exercises in the world. USS Patriot (MCM 7), CH-53 mine-hunting helicopters from HM-14, and several minesweepers from the Republic of Korea Navy are also participating in the exercise, which takes place Nov. 22 to Nov. 26.
