Afghanistan really has nothing to attract Ibn e Sina. If he were alive today, I am sure he would say, ' I am Persian'. After all those efforts made to destroy the language of Ibn e Sina in Afghanistan, what excitement has left for him to proclaim that he is an afghan? lol

No doubt his father was from Balkh. But he was born in the village of Afshana near Bukhara. Can somebody from this site come up with some reliable citation mentioning that he actually visited Balkh or he spent some time in Balkh? I would appreciate it......No Gap-e- muft please

Ibne Sina (Avicenna) was born in the village of Afshana in the vicinity of Bukhara , in 370 AH (980 AD)— Bukhara is now in current day Uzbekistan, but the village of Afshana falls in contemporary Tajikistan. If we go by contemporary nations / countries, probably Tajikistan is the most deserving nation to claim fothe legacy of Ibne sina .
For the following reasons:
1.Afshana village is in contemporary Tajikistan
2.They are not excluding other Persian nations, like Iran and Afghanistan, from the great legacy of Ibne sina , but consider them part of the same great civilization
3.They speak Farsi and love Farsi, and are proud to be called Persians.... Read More
