Vic, are you familiar with the 19th century mathematician Georg Cantor? He spent most of his life developing the mathematical theory/concept of infinity. He often described himself as "merely a mouthpiece, inspired by God to communicate parts of the mind of God to everyone else." You should read up on him if you have the time; I think you might find his story pretty interesting ("The Mystery of the Aleph" by Amir Aczel is a good start/really accessible).
